CPBR Anuradhapura

The Anuradhapura office was the first regional office outside of Colombo to be established by CPBR WHEN? It has been the epicentre for piloting schemes that actively involve all the religious clergies in the district. The originated from the need to coordinate the follow up activities of the 'Social Responsibility of the Buddhist Clergy' programme. As a result of the work with Buddhist monks, the Metta (Comapssion) group was formed to design and implement a conflict transformation syllabus for Piriven education. In parallel the ICT/Language and Peace Centre in Anuradhapura was opened in June 2006 to meet the need for tools to open to a cross cultural understanding. Further work promoting cross cultural and religious understanding followed very successfully. The CPBR Anuradhapura office is managed by two extremely talented people - Mr. Sapumal Kobbewela and Mr. D.M.Nimal Dissanayake. Both have over 10 years experience in working with local NGO's and youth centres in the Anuradhapura district and were involved in all of the projects initiated there through CPBR.
